Practical Training

STATS 297. Practical Training—Registration restricted to students in the M.S. degree program in Financial Mathematics. Students obtain employment in a relevant industrial or research activity, chosen to enhance their professional experience, and consistent with the FM-MS degree program. Prerequisite: consent of adviser.
1-3 units, Aut, Win, Spr, Sum

To get credit in this course each student should provide upon completion of employment a short report detailing the student's position, responsibilities, the skills relevant to financial mathematics that were obtained or developed, and the FM-MS program courses most relevant to the training experience.
